5 Recipes for an End of Summer Cookout
As summer comes to an end and school approaches, we are wrapping up the summer with fun get-togethers! What better brings people together better than an end of summer cookout? With temperatures starting to slowly, and we mean slowly, this is a great time to have a cookout with friends and family. From a starter to dessert, we’re going to share our top 5 recipes for an unforgettable cookout.
We all know hydration is key, so let’s have a drink. A bourbon slush is the perfect mixture of a childhood summer favorite (slushie) with an adult twist! Recipe from Southern Living:

Cocktail: Bourbon Slush
Ingredients:
-6 cups hot brewed tea
-1 cup granulated sugar
-1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate
-6 ounces of frozen orange juice concentrate
-2 cups bourbon
Steps:
-Combine the hot tea and sugar in a heatproof bowl; stir until the sugar dissolves
-Add the lemonade concentrate and orange juice concentrate; stir until blended. (Let stand until cool, about 1 hour.)
-Stir in the bourbon. Pour the bourbon mixture into a large freezer-safe container, and freeze until almost firm (about 8 hours or overnight)
-Let stand at room temperature until partially thawed (about 1 hour)
-Spoon into glasses and serve immediately.
