Our Favorite Summer Cocktails

When it comes to beating the Texas heat, an ice-cold cocktail might just be the solution! With so many different cocktail options out there, it can be overwhelming to know what to try out. This Summer calls for reinventing some of the classics. Here are three of our favorite classic cocktails with a fun twist!



1. Spicy Mango Margarita

Recipe by Fruetcake 

 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1-2oz  lime juice – about one lime 
  • 4 oz Mango juice
  • Fresh mango, diced
  • 2 Jalapeños, sliced
  • Tajin to rim 
  • Lime wedge to garnish

 

Steps:

  1. Muddle together some fresh mango and jalapeños
  2. Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and mango juice
  3. Shake or stir until the ingredients are well combined 
  4. Rim glass with some lime juice and tajin
  5. Fill glass with fresh ice and strain cocktail in
  6. Garnish with a piece of mango, lime and jalapeño 

 

2. Cucumber Vodka Lemonade

Recipe by The Clean Eating Couple 

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Vodka
  • 2 cups lemonade
  • ½ cup chopped cucumber
  • ¼ cup fresh mint

 

Steps:

  1. Muddle together cucumber slices and mint 
  2. Add vodka, lemonade, and ice
  3. Shake or stir until the ingredients are well combined 
  4. Add cucumber slices, mint and ice into a glass
  5. Strain the cocktail into the glass and enjoy!



3. Sangria Slushie

Recipe by The Food Network

Ingredients

  • One, 750-milliliter bottle of red wine
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur
  • ¼ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup sugar 
  • One, 10-ounce bag of frozen berries

 

Steps:

  1. Pour red wine into ice cube tray & freeze until solid
  2. Mix brandy, orange liqueur, and some sugar in a pitcher and store in fridge
  3. Combine wine ice cubes, brandy mix and frozen mixed berries 
  4. Blend until it’s a slushie consistency 
  5. Pour into glass and garnish with some more berries
