Friday 9/1/2023

5:01PM

Let’s be real, the weekend probably mentally started for you hours ago (I’m not here to judge), but this is when you’re finally free to kick off the Labor Day Weekend festivities with drinks and dinner on a patio. The Josephine House, Salty Sow, and Hopfields all have great cocktails and patio seating.

6:30PM

Next hit up a drive in movie at Blue Starlite Drive-In downtown, the famed Circuit of The Americas venue at MoonStruck Drive In, or Doc’s Drive In Theatre in Buda.

7:00PM

If you’re more of a music lover, head over to Pinballz Lake Creek for their Summer Concert Series and enjoy a pop rock concert by Blevins band and Soma Jerome. It starts at 7:00PM, and you can reserve your tickets online for free.

Saturday 9/2/23

7:00AM

Normally I don’t advocate getting up before 7AM, but in this case it’s worth it. Kyle Park is hosting Kyle Pie in the Sky Celebration, and it kicks off at seven with the Hot Air Balloon Grand Ascension. After that, there is a whole day of exciting, and delicious, activities, carnival rides, and live music. You can check out the schedule of events and get your tickets HERE.

Sunday 9/3/23

10:00AM

Spend a day in nature (without melting) at one of the natural swimming options in Austin. Take a dip in Barton Springs Pool, a natural swimming hole that stays at 68 to 70 degrees per year, rent a boat at Lake Travis, or go tubing on the Guadalupe.

4:00PM

Wash all that water down with some cold beer at a local Beer Garden, and of course it wouldn’t be a true Austin Beer Garden experience without live music. Central Machine Works Brewing, Bangers, and Jester King Brewery all fit the bill.

Monday 9/4/23

11:00AM

It’s been a busy weekend, and there is no better way to honor a day off from work than sleeping in. So, your day shouldn’t start until eleven when all the stores open. The Domain has a great mix of high end shops and mainstream retail. Start off the day with hitting your favorite stores before it gets too hot or crowded.

1:00PM

Take a shopping break at one of the many native Austin restaurants lining the streets of the Domain. Next, grab some gelato. I don’t care what anyone says. Shopping is exercise, and you’ve earned a gelato break at the popular Frost Gelato.

6:00PM

Finally, finish off the long weekend by gorging yourself on some delicious barbecue. Our social media manager and Austin native, Kat, loves Terry Black’s Barbecue, and when she wants to go all out, she gets the ribs and sliced brisket, cream corn, mac & cheese, jalapeño cornbread, and banana pudding!
